Formation on manual medicine, physiotherapy and rehabilitation (diploma)

The second module of Kinesiology School Diploma, physiotherapy and veterinary equine rehabilitation option held from July 7 to 9 at the Casino de Cabourg. These 2.5 days of lectures and practical demonstrations has brought together sixty veterinarians around physiotherapy and manual therapies (massage, mobilization, stretching, taping, osteopathy and acupuncture). The demo taping even finished even on the beach of Cabourg, at sunset, to assess the effects in real conditions on our mare, Ulga, who has played the game.

A big thank you to all stakeholders: Sylvain Letendre, Sybille Molle, Marc Baudoux, Frank De Craesne, Isabelle Brugaud, Isabelle Lussot, Eva Jonville Gwénola Touzot-Jourde and Jean-Marie Denoix, who delivered the keys to their techniques. Also thank you to our partners, Mikan and Hospimedi for their support in organizing these days.

Ultrasonographic diagnosis at CIRALE

On 23 and 24 June and on 27 and 28 June 2016 took place 2 advanced ultrasound sessions in CIRALE. Prof. Denoix introduced ultrasound examination of the lower part of the members at the first session (foot, pastern, metacarpal area and carp) and then the upper limbs and the axial region at the second session (shoulder elbow, hock, stifle, hip, neck, spine and pelvis).

The presentation is based largely on the demonstration of the technique on a horse, onlive, by Prof. Denoix. Then the 31 veterinary participants from 10 different nationalities, divided into small groups supervised by clinicians CIRALE, have exercised the techniques demonstrated on instruction horses. Our colleagues, mainly from France, Germany and Belgium, but also Italy, Spain, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Finland, Sweden and Ireland, have enjoyed the training and stay in Normandy.
