Ultrasound examinations have become a major and valuable part of the investigation of horses affected by many orthopaedic diseases (e.g. tendon and ligament damage, joint evaluation, some fractures, back diseases, etc.), with Pr Jean-Marie Denoix being a pioneer since the 90’s in the development of ultrasound of the equine joints and leader in the ultrasound training of vets around the world.
Ultrasound guidance is commonly used for precise local treatments such as ultrasound-guided injections of the back, pelvis, and cervical joints.
